Adobe Product Options for 2022-23

Adobe offers a number of powerful applications for digital image manipulation, graphic design, and PDF creation. Despite rising software costs, Technology Services has worked diligently to make sure these popular tools are available to everyone on campus. Additional funding during the early years of the pandemic even allowed us to temporarily expand this access. For the 2022-23  academic year, we’d like to offer a brief update on how you can access the Adobe products that Technology Services provides and supports.

Access Options for Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Virtual Lab (students and employees)

A virtual Windows environment that is app or browser-based for convenient access from anywhere. Current students and employees can use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite applications from any computer with an Internet connection.

Remote Access Server (employees)

A virtual Windows environment that is app or browser-based for convenient access from anywhere. Current employees can use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite applications from any computer with an Internet connection.

Campus Lab Locations (students)

Adobe Creative Cloud applications will remain available on machines in the Digital Arts Lab, and lab spaces in Nobel Hall.

Departmental Purchasing Options

Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

Your department may purchase any number of individual Adobe Creative Cloud licenses for $232/year each. These licenses are billed annually, and based on past experience, you should plan for these costs to increase year over year.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020

Technology Services has obtained a limited number of “perpetual” licenses for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020.  Your department may purchase individual licenses for a one-time cost of $112/each. It is important to note that you will be buying a standalone product—Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020—and once Adobe ceases support for this version, it will become obsolete or non operational. These licenses are assigned to individual users, and are available on a first come, first served basis. For more occasional needs, we recommend the Virtual Lab or Remote Access options listed above. Daily PDF viewing can always be done via your web browser or in Preview (Macintosh-only).
