WebAdvisor End of Life
Ellucian has previously announced that support for WebAdvisor will soon be ending. Technology Services has set a deadline of December 2020 to transition most mission-critical services to Ellucian’s replacement product called Self-Service (also known as MyGustavus). Many services have already been migrated and still others are being planned. While we will not be able to transition everything to MyGustavus, we expect Ellucian will continue to develop and enhance offerings on the new platform. Hoonuit Online Training
Hoonuit is an online, on-demand, training site that offers over 50,000 tutorial videos on over 250 technology applications, including Microsoft, Google, and Adobe. Topics are subdivided into very small chunks, and presented in videos of one or two minutes, so learners can easily and quickly find the training they need on specific topics. Instructors can also pull Hoonuit videos directly into their Moodle courses. Just navigate to gustavus.edu/hoonuit and login using your Gustavus credentials. You can search for your desired training via keywords and/or using filters for applications, topics, and categories.
Top 10 Information Technology Issues of 2020
Educause has released their top 10 IT issues for 2020 list. The list is “developed by an expert panel composed of IT and non-IT leaders, CIOs, and faculty members.” Individual Educause members vote on the issues during an annual survey. This year’s list features information security strategy and privacy as the top two issues. The full list, presentation video, and related infographics can be found at Educause’s website:
