Socially engineering the web

Outfoxed is a Firefox plugin that relies on a database built by other trusted Outfoxed users to tell you whether sites are good, bad, or dangerous. From the Outfoxed website:

There are over 8 billion web pages. Most of them suck.

Outfoxed uses your network of trusted friends and experts to help you find the good stuff and avoid the bad. (And a lot more, too.)

It does a lot of cool things like give you reports on websites when you visit them and re-orders your search results with in-line reports. Beyond the web, it also allows users to rate their system processes to help prevent spyware, malware, adware, and viruses.

Since it is still in beta, you should proceed with caution. However, this extension has a lot of promise to creating a better Internet.
