Adblock list Posted on June 21st, 2005 by

The adblock extension for Firefox allows users to block unwanted advertisements from webpages. This provides for a much faster, cleaner, and enjoyable browsing experience. However, to block those unwanted ads, you have to add filters to your adblock plugin. One could either go through all of the websites that one visits and add filters for all of the ads, or one could find a good list and just import it.

Filterset.G provides a frequently updated adblock filter list that you can import into your adblock extension. Note, however, that importing will erase any filters that you may already have entered. Only import if you are sure that you are ok with that. Also, notice that some of these filters combine the beauty and simplicity of regular expressions to deliver automated adblocking results. However, you need to be careful when using a list like this that includes regular expression filters because it may come up with some false positives. So, just be sure you know how to disable filters and you’ll be just fine.

Since Filterset.G has exceeded its transfer limit at the moment, I grabbed the latest list from the Google cache and posted it here for your convenience.
