TLDR: Your Apple devices need critical updates to remediate serious vulnerabilities.
Apple recently released updates to address a set of serious vulnerabilities affecting most Apple devices. Security researchers released a report detailing how these vulnerabilities may be exploited. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to gain access to sensitive information, install applications, or spy on users. This could happen merely by the user visiting a maliciously-crafted website. It does not require any other direct user action. This amounts to the most dangerous kind of security vulnerability.
At this time, Apple has provided security patches for macOS Ventura, iOS, iPadOS, and WatchOS. Updates for older operating systems such as Monterey and Big Sur will be forthcoming. It is important that you update all of your Apple devices whether institutional or personal. This includes all Apple computers running macOS Ventura, as well as iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Keep in mind that an update requires a reboot. Instructions for updating your devices may be found in the following Knowledge Base article.
