We’ve had reports from a handful of users that some Google Meets are suddenly requiring the meeting organizer to grant access to other participants. While we are not entirely sure why some meetings have been affected this way, we do believe it is the result of the “Quick Access” feature being turned off for that particular meeting (or series of recurring meetings). If you’ve noticed this happening to you, please go to your Google Calendar and follow these steps:
- Find your event in Google Calendar and click the settings icon (the gear) next to the “Join with Google Meet” button.
- Make sure the “Quick Access” checkbox is checked.
- Click the “Save” button to make the change take effect.
It is important to note that this change will be “sticky,” and it will apply to all recurring instances of that same meeting.
It should also be mentioned that there are cases where you may want Quick Access turned off. Doing so gives you, the meeting organizer, more control over who participates.
