Gustavus believes that professional development is an important piece in keeping you empowered and up to date with technology. And now, more than ever, you may feel the need to learn new ways to teach and work. Fortunately, there are a wealth of opportunities and resources to help you:

Hoonuit

Hoonuit is an online, on demand, training site that offers over 50,000 tutorial videos on over 250 technology applications, including Microsoft, Google, and Adobe. Topics are subdivided into very small chunks, and presented in videos of one or two minutes, so learners can easily and quickly find the training they need on specific topics. Instructors can pull Hoonuit videos directly into their Moodle courses. Navigate to gustavus.edu/hoonuit and login using your Gustavus Credentials to start learning today!

Safe Colleges

Safe Colleges is our newest online training resource and where all required training will be located for the Gustavus community, including Title IX, Campus Safety, Security Awareness, and many others. Safe colleges is split into two site: one for students and one for faculty & staff. Any required training assigned to you will display once you sign in using your Gustavus credentials.

Learn how to set up your course to make it easy for students to navigate your course content. We will talk about using Quality Matters templates to build custom menus in your course; how to use different activities in Moodle to nest content together; plus many other tips to make your fall course a huge success.

Moodle Assignments
Come learn more about assignments! We will talk about how to Set up your assignment, Grade your assignment and provide feedback & override grades.

Moodle Discussion Forums
There are many enhancements to the Moodle discussion forums and this course will show you how to set up your discussion forum, grade your forum and view reports on discussion forum engagement.

Moodle Grades
Learn more about setting up Moodle Grades! We will talk about how to set up your gradebook, how to add categories and grade items, use weighted grades, how to manually enter grades, how to override grades, and how the student views the gradebook.
