Secure Information Sharing and Storage Posted on January 18th, 2017 by

Gustavus Technology Services is always evaluating proven best practices and guidelines for sharing information.  When sharing information that contains sensitive or confidential data, it is important to use a secure method to transfer and store that information. For example, email is not an appropriate method to share sensitive or confidential information such as social security numbers or credit card information.  Sensitive and confidential information should only be shared using an approved method.

In addition to using a department share (z: drive), we now offer a solution called Secure Share that provides employees with the ability to send and receive information in a secure manner with other Gustavus users and those external to Gustavus. All current Gustavus employees have a Secure Share account.

Before using any service to share or store information, please review the following guidelines:

If you have any questions about sharing information, please contact Technology Services.
