Perry, now with sound Posted on May 8th, 2007 by

Perry the TitanEarlier today we turned on the microphones on all of the cameras in the greenhouse. So if you are on campus and tune in to channel 7, you can hear what is being said in the greenhouse. Also for those of you lucky enough to be on our wired computer network, you can view live video with sound from any of the three cameras. For more information about those cameras see the GusTV Events page.

For the rest of you who are following Perry’s progress, we are working on streaming video/audio for you as well. We now have a test page for those who are interested. It appears that the providers of this service ( ustream.tv ) are having some issues and therefore the video stream has been broken more than it has been working today. So if you would like to try it, please do. If it is not working, try again an hour or so later. Hopefully they will be more reliable before the big event.

Finally, there are a few new time lapse videos that were created earlier today.

    Dan,

The folks at Ustream are delighted to be a part of the excitement around Perry. When do you expect the blooming to occur? We can do our best to prepare for the demand.

One other tip–because the service is Web-based, any interruptions in Internet access or system resets on our end will break the continuity of the stream. If this happens, you can simply re-launch your show and the stream will come back.
