We have just put on the finishing touches on the first version of a new profile system that will allow faculty and staff to create a “professional profile” via their web browsers.
We’ve tried to keep the form fairly simple and easy-to-use, supplementing the user-provided information with details gleaned from our master database system.
The end product allows any employee to maintain their own biography, complete with photo, and areas of interest and expertise, while also giving them the ability to attach their curriculum vitae as a separate document. We will be automatically linking to individual profiles from department rosters (i.e. the faculty/staff list found on recently updated department homepages) and we also hope to feature this information in other exciting ways.
