Yesterday I upgraded our Jabber server from Wildfire 3.0 to Wildfire 3.1.0 beta. With the new beta comes the ability to install the IM Gateway plugin. This plugin allows you to use our jabber server to contact users on AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN, and Yahoo networks.
Since this is a beta, there are some bugs and not everything works, however at least some of the transports seem to work well enough for simple chatting. If you try anything more than that, all bets are off 🙂

Another nice feature of our Jabber server is the ability to use our LDAP groups. If you know of an LDAP group or Gustavus course that should be added as a group to our Jabber server, let me know. Once I add the group all the Gustavus accounts in that group get added to that group in your buddy list.
