For years, in google calendar and google docs, users have had to use @gustavus.edu e-mail addresses to invite another Gustie to an event or document. Google has now given us the ability to add @gac.edu as an “alias.”
On November 28th, we plan to turn this feature on, though it may take a couple days to take effect.
The up side:
You will be able to invite people to events and share docs using @gac.edu e-mail addresses if that’s what you prefer.
Some users have created seperate @gac.edu google accounts, which often causes confusion.
The down side:
Users who have created @gac.edu google accounts will have to rename their @gac.edu account. They can either rename it to use another e-mail account they already have (for example an @hotmail.com account) or they can create a new @gmail.com account.
If you have questions please e-mail noc@gac.edu
